Cook Security Group (“CSG”) was founded in May of 2002 by Brian Cook, CEO. Upon formation, CSG operated in the electronic and physical security niche providing these services primarily to financial institutions in Oregon. In 2005, CSG entered the Seattle market opening its first satellite branch to the home office. Since 2005, CSG has successfully opened offices in Spokane, Benicia, Las Vegas, Medford and Boise to bring our current total to seven. During the first four years of business, many of the banks were utilizing CSG’s construction department to rig and install ATMs that other vendors were selling.
In 2006, with the consolidation and merger of many of these ATM companies, CSG received many requests from current customers to provide 1st and 2nd Line service to their ATM fleets and consolidate the agreements with their other banking equipment. It was at this time that Cook created the ATM Service and Installation department and began to cross train our technicians. We have been successfully growing our ATM business at a rapid rate for the past 10 years. In fact, we’ve been awarded the Fastest Growing Company award by the Portland Business Journal seven consecutive years! We have more than 180 employees and are servicing six total states. In addition, we have six regional office locations with resident technicians peppered throughout each area.
Two years ago Cook Security Group celebrated our 10 year anniversary, toasting our two most valuable assets… Our customers and employees! In addition, we just received our 7th Top 100 Companies to Work for award (#44) by Oregon Business Journal and our 2nd Top 100 Companies to Work for award (#6) by Seattle Business Magazine!
Behind the Slogan: “We Make it Happen”
Our slogan was actually given to us by our customers. It is no secret that we have built our structure with one goal in mind… service our customers and make their lives easier. That is why if we get a call at 4:58pm on a Friday due to an alarm failure, we will still come to the rescue! Our customers were repeatedly saying “You guys make it happen!” We heard it so much that we took it to heart, hence our slogan, “We Make it Happen!”

Race for the C.U.P.- The Incentive Program for Technicians
At Cook Security Group we take our service and response times very seriously. In fact, we have added a fantastic incentive for our technicians! This incentive is called “Race for the Cook Service C.U.P.” The letters, C.U.P. stand for:
We built the program in the model of NASCAR, in which technicians (drivers) are in a weekly race to gain points (laps) based on certain performance criteria including Call Acknowledgement Time, Average Response Time, and other key measurements in providing premier service for our valued customers. Not only is this a fun competition but it has big-time perks as well! For example, last month we paid out over $800 to our technicians for their 2nd Quarter performance! Another great aspect about the Race for the Cook Service C.U.P. is that the point standings start over each month so everybody has a chance!

The Story Behind Cook Security Group’s Famous BBQ Sauce!
Many of our customers love our Cook Security Group BBQ Sauce and ask us the “story behind the sauce”. We bought a batch from one of our customers to give away at a trade show one year and it was a surprising hit. However, we failed to bring sauce the following year and there was a major uproar! We brought back the BBQ sauce, customized the label and added the Teriyaki sauce as well. The sauce became a signature of Cook Security Group and we now give it away at each tradeshow Cook Security Group attends throughout the year!
