JOB TITLE: Locksmith
GENERAL PURPOSE
Locksmith reports to Department Supervisors, or Managers, depending on the size, organizational structure, or geographic location of the operation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, installing, repairing and servicing mechanical or electrical locking devices using handtools and special equipment, and tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Essential functions of the job are listed below. Other duties may also be assigned. - Disassemble locks, such as padlocks, safe locks, vault locks door locks and teller locks
- Repairs or replaces worn tumblers, springs and other parts
- Inserts new or repaired tumblers into lock to change combination
- Accounts for all installation tools/equipment and all job parts/inventory
- Cuts new or duplicate keys, using keycutting machine
- Moves lockpick in cylinder to open door locks without keys
- Opens safe and vault locks by drilling
- May keep records of company locks and keys
- Accounts for all tools/equipment and all job parts/inventory
- Tests all installed/serviced equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with customers requirements
- Communicates important project status information to management as necessary
- Communicates with customers on job status or completion
- Completes and turns in all required paperwork in a timely manner according to established procedures and deadlines, i.e. timesheets, expense reports, change orders, equipment transfers, etc.
- Maintains and controls assigned truck stock inventory in an organized manner
- Maintains control, and safeguards, all CSG or customer property or information of which employee has been entrusted
- Keeps assigned vehicle clean inside and out
- Coordinates and ensures vehicle is maintained according to established standards
- Maintains clean driving record and operates CSG vehicles using safe driving practices
- May be asked to provide training to less experienced employees and trainees on CSG procedures, systems, and lock work techniques
- Ensures all work is preformed to CSG quality standards and practices
- Works in compliance with Federal/State laws regarding safety of self and others at all times
Cook Security Group is looking for an experienced Locksmith to join our team. CSG is a local company that provides security, service and installation to financial, commercial, and School/GOV institutions throughout the Pacific Northwest. The work is performed in a variety of locations to include; financial institutions, offices, warehouses, industrial and commercial properties, etc... The work is conducted both inside and outside in all weather conditions. Some work is conducted at moderate to great heights utilizing ladders, scaffolding, and lifts. Some work is conducted in tight spaces such as attics, crawl spaces, and culverts. May be subjected to extremely high noise levels.
