JOB TITLE: Associate Technician (trainee), Technician, and Senior Technician
GENERAL PURPOSE
Technicians report to Department Supervisors, or Managers, depending on the size, organizational structure, or geographic location of the operation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, installing wires and equipment, responding to service calls, conducting site surveys, performing installation startup, system commissioning, customer training, and tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Essential functions of the job are listed below. Other duties may also be assigned. - Installs/services electronic and physical security products
- Installs and pulls wire as per specifications
- Installs and wires electronic equipment used in systems
- Accounts for all installation tools/equipment and all job parts/inventory
- Tests all installed/serviced equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with customers requirements
- Communicates important project status information to management as necessary (installation or service)
- Communicates with customers on job status or completion (installation or service)
- Conducts site surveys upon request of management
- Completes and turns in all required paperwork in a timely manner according to established procedures and deadlines, i.e. timesheets, expense reports, change orders, equipment transfers, etc.
- Maintains and controls assigned truck stock inventory in an organized manner
- Maintains control, and safeguards, all CSG or customer property or information of which employee has been entrusted
- Keeps assigned vehicle clean inside and out
- Coordinates and ensures vehicle is maintained according to established standards
- Maintains clean driving record and operates CSG vehicles using safe driving practices
- Responsible for training less experienced employees and trainees on CSG procedures, systems, and installation/service techniques
- Ensures all work is preformed to CSG quality standards and practices
- Works in compliance with Federal/State laws regarding safety of self and others at all times
SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Please note that supervisory responsibility varies from Associate Technician, Technician, and Sr. Technician. In accordance with applicable CSG policies/procedures and Federal/State laws, may perform the following supervisory responsibilities: Orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
May supervise less experienced Limited Energy Electricians and trainees. May also supervise subcontractors and temporary workers.

The work is performed in a variety of locations to include; financial institutions, offices, warehouses, industrial and commercial properties, etc... The work is conducted both inside and outside in all weather conditions. Some work is conducted at moderate to great heights utilizing ladders, scaffolding, and lifts. Some work is conducted in tight spaces such as attics, crawl spaces, and culverts. May be subjected to extremely high noise levels.
